Comment CTAs that really work, word for word

Five rules, each with a real line you can copy. Then one template.

The short answer

A strong comment CTA uses one capital word, ties it to what people get, says it's free, names the thing, and appears on the last slide and in the first line of the caption. The template: Comment WORD and I'll send you the thing. It's free.

The five rules

  1. 01

One capital word. "Comment PLAYBOOK and I'll send you the doc." (Jenna Kutcher)

  2. 02

Tie the word to the thing. "Comment '100LEADS' to get a free scaling roadmap." (Alex Hormozi)

  3. 03

Say free. "Reply 'HACK' if you want a free tutorial." (@instacoachmike)

  4. 04

Name what they get. "Comment TRAFFIC to get my free webinar." (Jenna Kutcher)

  5. 05

Put it in two places: the last slide and the first line of your caption. "Comment RICH and I'll DM you the link." (Chalene Johnson, whose post got 7 times more comments than likes)

Build it in Postkey

Postkey is the most agentic DM automation tool. It works on the Free plan, and you can set this up by hand or ask ChatGPT or Claude to do it for you.

  1. 01

Connect your Instagram professional account with Meta's own sign-in.

  2. 02

Open DM automations and start a comment-to-DM automation. Choose one post or any post.

  3. 03

Type your keyword, then write the DM that sends the thing you promised.

  4. 04

Keep a button on the opening DM. The tap lets you send the link and any follow-ups.

  5. 05

Switch it on, then comment the keyword from a second account to see it work.

Questions

On the last slide or at the end of the reel, and in the first line of the caption.

In your copy, yes, so it stands out. Postkey matches the word in any case.

One line. Say the word and what they get.
