ManyChat bills by the people you talk to and gives each Instagram account its own subscription. LinkDM bills by DMs sent and puts several accounts on one plan. That one difference decides most setups.
The short answer
ManyChat is the bigger platform: 7 channels, a flow builder, AI replies from Pro and many integrations, billed by active contacts, one Instagram account per subscription, from $17 a month. LinkDM is built for Instagram and Facebook DMs, billed by DMs sent, with 3 Instagram accounts on Pro at $19 a month. Neither schedules posts or has an MCP server we could find. Postkey does both, and is the third option to look at.

How each one bills
ManyChat counts people, not messages: "It doesn't matter how many messages you exchange. One person = one Active Contact for the month." Past your plan's contacts, "If you go over it, your automations don't suddenly shut off, we'll just charge a small overage fee for each additional Active Contact." The overage per extra contact runs from $0.10 on Essential down to $0.004 on Advanced, and you can set a threshold.
LinkDM counts DMs sent. In LinkDM's words, "If you reach your monthly sending limit, DMs will stop sending until the start of the next month", unless you bought DM credits, which are used automatically and never expire. The count resets on the 1st.
So the same month costs differently. A post that gets many comments from a few people is cheap on ManyChat; a post that reaches thousands of new people is cheap on LinkDM, until its monthly DM count runs out.

LinkDM's ManyChat math, checked
LinkDM's comparison page says "$19 to send 25,000 DMs compared to $165 with Manychat", and its table puts the ManyChat side at $199. The two tools do not count the same thing, so the answer depends on who gets the DMs.
25,000 DMs to 25,000 different people need Advanced on ManyChat (25,000 active contacts, $199 a month). 25,000 DMs to 2,500 people fit in Pro ($39 a month). On LinkDM both cost the same: Pro, $19 a month.
What it costs for your setup
The cheapest plan for each number of Instagram accounts on monthly billing, before extra usage. ManyChat needs one subscription per Instagram account: "If you want to manage multiple accounts for the same channel type, such as two Instagram accounts, you'll need to create a separate Manychat account for each. Note that each Manychat account has its own settings and billing."
