ManyChat AI: what it does, which plans have it, and its limits
Manychat AI answers DMs and comments inside ManyChat, on its Pro plan and up. Postkey, the most agentic DM automation tool, has AI replies too, and an AI agent can build the automations.
The short answer
Manychat AI is ManyChat's set of AI features: AI Replies, AI Comments, AI Goals, Knowledge, AI Step and AI Intention Recognition, plus a Flow Builder assistant. ManyChat's own pages differ on the price (read October 23, 2026): its AI page says "Manychat AI is an add-on to Manychat Pro, and costs $29/month." Its pricing page ticks AI on Pro, Business and Advanced with no separate price. Check with ManyChat before you buy. Its help center calls it a beta, and its replies, comment answers and goals work on Instagram only.

Its limits, from ManyChat's own pages
- AI Replies, AI Comments and AI Goals work on Instagram only, and ManyChat calls Manychat AI a beta. ManyChat's AI page lists Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp and Messenger as the places it connects.
- AI Comments answers comments on Reels and posts, not Stories or Lives.
- The AI stops waiting for a contact's reply after 10 hours.
- A Knowledge link reads only that one page, and only its text.
- The Flow Builder assistant works for Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp and Telegram, and starts from a short list of templates: reply with a link, collect data, grow an email list, book appointments, answer FAQs, a quiz, or other.

If you stay on ManyChat
If you are on ManyChat Pro or higher with Manychat AI switched on, AI Replies with a good Knowledge library can take most of the repeat questions on Instagram. If you would rather use your own model, ManyChat also connects to ChatGPT, Claude and DeepSeek with your own API key.
Postkey is worth a look if you want an AI agent to set up and change the automations from ChatGPT or Claude, or if you run several Instagram accounts and want them on one plan.

Why Postkey is the most agentic DM automation tool

Its Flow Builder assistant can draft one: you describe your business and goal, pick a channel, a template and a trigger, and it builds a draft you then edit in the Flow Builder. It works inside ManyChat; an outside AI assistant cannot do this through ManyChat's API.
Manychat AI talks to the people in your DMs and comments, inside the rules and knowledge you give it. An AI agent connected over MCP does the account work: it builds the automations, reads the results and changes them. Postkey's MCP server is built for that.
